There are a couple differences between the penalties and fines that companies would be subjected to by the proposed senate bills.

Businesses with more than 25 employees would be fined $750 per full time employee if they did not offer health insurance. According to the House bill, business with payrolls of more than $400K per year would be forced to provide health insurance for all their employees or suffer an 8% penalty. Businesses with payrolls between $250K and $450K would pay lower penalties but would still endure the consequences. The smaller companies would not be included in the mandate and therefore would not be penalized. What are your thoughts? Should small businesses undergo the same penalties as the larger businesses?
