A survey was conducted recently by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans based in Wisconsin. The survey found the 2 out of 3 benefit plan sponsors felt that health care should remain in its long standing format of being employer provided. However, the survey also found that 25% of respondents felt our current system should be replaced by a government controlled program, and a further 20% felt that there should be a universal healthcare plan in place. An overwhelming 70% felt that our current healthcare system needs an overhaul. So it seems that while they are comfortable with the employer provided format, they are also saying the system needs to be completely different. Can we keep that format while at the same time making a health and welfare consulting overhaul?
