An overwhelming 70% of employers agree that the health care system needs an overhaul, but most of them feel that employers should still be the backbone of the stystem and the primary means of delivery. However, the proposed reform plans of both candidates would indicate a move away from this system. Now that Barack Obama has been elected, it looks as though he will be moving toward a more government based delivery of health care. For employers not wishing to secure an expensive plan of their own, they can pay into a government subsidized plan. People looking for insurance outside of an employers plan will also have the choice of an individual health insurance plan or a government plan. With government plans remaining less expensive, it looks like everyone will make that choice. How do you think the reform movement will affect how employers impact the delivery of health care?
