On Monday afternoon 180 congress members had to sit for 3 hours and not say a word, while a tutorial on the new health Insurance reform was held in the Capitol basement. They were not even allowed to ask questions for the first few hours but they could write them down to be discussed later. All the attendees were House Democrats discussing the momentous and controversial health care reform legislation. There are more than 1,000 pages to the rough draft bill with many other amendments still to come. The Democrats decided that before they return to their constituents for the August recess they need to learn and understand more about the proposed legislation. Do you agree? I wish someone would sit down and do Health care reform 101 with the American People.
I would be upset if it were otherwise although I hope that it was being done so they would know what the —– they are voting for this time and not simply to prep them to defuse objections of their constituents. One might also wish that the 6th Estate would inform the populqace instead of delivering pap.
