A recent poll conducted among small businesses in Ohio shows that the cost of healthcare is one of the foremost concerns among owners. The survey included 300 Ohio area small businesses and revealed an outcry for reform in health care to improve the economy, as well as remove one of the leading barriers to entrepeneurship. An overwhelming majority of small business owners agreed that without health care reform, the economy would not improve, and without an improved economy, many small businesses will not survive. Additonally, businesses which cannot afford to offer health insurance benefits to their employees will have difficulty in attracting and retaining skilled workers. Will Obama be able to address the health care concerns facing America’s small businesses?
