Many people it seems are increasingly concerned with themselves or a loved one contracting a serious illness such as cancer or heart disease. This concern has led to an interest in carrying individual health insurance policies above and beyond the policy provided for them by their employer. People are clearly concerned that the limitations of their existing policy will not provide sufficient coverage should they or a dependent be struck with a major illness. Will this growing interest in individual policies, along with other factors such as rising premiums for employer provided coverage with fewer coverages, lead to the elimination of the employer based health care system?
