After the somewhat forced resignation of previous leader Tom Daschle left a whole in the arena of health care reform, Obama has finally appointed his second choice, Kansas Senator Kathleen Sebelius. While it is not official yet, Obama is expected to make the official announcement early this week. While very conservative, Sebelius has a list of intentions for carrying forth with health care reform as she takes the position of leader of Health and Human Services. Among the goals she has set forth is to initiate a tax credit for small businesses to provide health care benefits to their workers. The Government would also help share the cost of catastrophic coverage for employers, which would result in lower premiums for employees. Do you think these measures are enough to battle the rapidly increasing costs of health care which has forced many small businesses to suspend benefits altogether?
