Donald Danner, President of the National Federation of Independent Business, laughed at the promise made by health insurance industry leaders to save $2 trillion dollars over the next ten years by cutting costs and eliminating wasteful practices. Danner does not believe you can trust the predator to be merciful with his prey. Health insurance providers will continue to place profit at a higher level of importance, and the pledge does not address the underlying problem which is skyrocketing health care costs on the end of the provider and hospital. While he agrees that the current system is unsustainable and must undergo a change, he does not feel that this is the way to go about it. What are your thoughts?
