A new study conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation and Health Research & Education Trust found that while the rate of employer provided coverage among large companies has remained about the same, among small business only about half still provide insurance benefits to their employees. For many small businesses, the costs are just too prohibitive, having almost doubled in recent years. While some small employers struggle to keep their employees covered and take the costs out of their profits, many are asking their employees to absorb more and more of the extra cost, or just eliminating the benefit altogether. As health care costs continue to rise, do you think it will spell the end of employer based benefits among all small companies? Will this type of benefit only be available at the large corporations, or will the benefit dissapear here as well?
